MHA asks the States to entreat Strict Laws Against Those Hoarding, Black Marketing Essentials During this Lockdown

The Centre has asked the states and the union territories to entreat a strict law to punish those involved in hoarding and black marketing of essential commodities, stating thet such acts can’t be ignored due to the loss of production and labour crisis in the wake of the all over lockdown.

In a talk with chief secretaries of all states and union territories, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), under the Disaster Management Act, has given permission for the manufacture or production, transport and other related supply-chain activities considering the essential goods like foodstuff, medicines and medical equipment during the 21-day lockdown.
